Kate Spade Resale Ecommerce Site

I created this site design for thredUP to use in a Kate Spade sales pitch, and later worked with the Kate Spade team to bring the site to fruition. The goal was to provide a premium resale shopping experience that complimented (but didn't upstage) katespade.com.

About The Project

I pulled a mix of design styles and imagery from katespade.com and past marketing campaigns to create a design that felt fresh, fun, and on brand. Big blocks of color and bold imagery were inspired by Kate Spade's signature sense of playfulness, while small details like the Spade symbol kept the design elevated.

Within the design, fashion afficianados can wax nostalgic about past collections and get excited to explore fresh finds at a discounted price. In addition to shopping, the Trade In page invites visitors to send in their pre-loved clothing and accessories in exchange for Kate Spade shopping credit.

The thredUP supply team serves two distinct personas with very different motivations and goals for trading in. The Trade In page for this demo was simplified as much as possible to be geared toward the Casual Seller persona (someone who is looking to clean out their closet quickly and easily) to align with Kate Spade resale visitors.

My Involvement

I worked closely with a senior copywriter on the website direction and design, and with developers to ensure the final site met my creative standards and vision as well as stakeholder and marketing needs.
